Luke Church
Luke has been fishing for over 10 years, he started out fishing for smaller species such as Roach, Rudd and Perch and moved onto Carp fishing, targeting heavily stocked waters fishing for single figure fish. He moved on to specimen Carp and did this by fishing on bigger and harder low stocked waters in pursuit of Personal bests. 2010 saw Luke getting onto the match scene and winning the BCAC, at the 1st year of entering the competition.
Luke is a very efficient angler; hugely motivated and highly enthusiastic always putting 110% effort into every session that he is on. Making the most of the time he has when fishing as the majority of his trips tend to be short overnighters or weekend sessions. He adapts his approach and tactics to any given situation that he finds himself in, and will pursue the Carp in the best possible way. Watercraft is also a vital part of his fishing, checking the weather regularly before to get a rough understanding of how the Carp will be behaving or where they may be positioned on a lake. He says “I also look out for a change in the weather, it maybe a drop in air pressure or a change of wind direction that will increase your chances of getting extra fish on the bank. I like to fish light, enabling me to move onto any showing fish on the lake and I’m never afraid to move through the night if I feel I could be in a better position to catch the Carp.”
After winning the BCAC he will be regularly writing articles for Carp-Talk and various other magazines. This year he’s hoping to greater his angling profile by participating in more matches and landing loads of specimen Carp from my Syndicate waters and various other day ticket waters across the country. Good luck Luke.

BCAC Semi Final 2011 – By Luke Church

Preparation:
As we had fished Barston last year in Semi final 2, we had plenty of knowledge on the lake and how it fished. It is ... (read more...)
Winter Success - by Luke Church
After another long and cold winter of sitting at home wishing I was out fishing, we were into the middle of February and with spring fast approaching I planned to get out for a much needed session. I was only able to fish for 24 hours so when deciding on which venue to fish I was thinking the best option would be to go somewhere that has a good stocking of fish, giving me plenty of chance for a ...
