Graham Mabey

Graham started out fishing at the tender age of 6, visiting his local river and was hooked from that very first moment. He grew up fishing club waters and entering their junior competitions, gradually making his way into carp angling.

In 2007 Graham started FLE (For Life Experiences) as he had been teaching personal development and outdoor pursuits in the UK and the US for 6 years, and thought that combining fishing with personal development and educational courses would be of benefit to the community. After approaching the Princes Trust they were awarded a young entrepreneurs grant and the rest, as they say, is history!

They now have a dedicated Angling and Outdoor Pursuit School in Hampshire, great friendly staff and run courses all over the South coast introducing people to the joys of fishing. His winters are spent chilling on the river banks after Roach and Grayling, and then it is back to the pursuit of carp in the spring.

Graham fishes a lot of Competitions with Tom Oliver and the rest of the FLE boys, and this year he has got off to a flying start by winning the 2011 Media Carp masters in France. Roll on the BCAC’s!

FLE go and get a result at C4C! - by Graham Mabey

For Life Experiences is all about getting people into Angling and Outdoor Pursuit and working with organisations doing good work in the community. When we heard about a charity carp fishing match being held at Watermarks massive Bradley’s Fishery in the Cotswold Waterpark which helps raise funds and awareness for Cancer research we just had to be involved.

Carpin 4 Cancer has been going for 5 years and has raised a huge amount of money to help with Cancer research in the UK. Organised by top-lads Brad and Paul the event has a fun filled atmosphere and is all about enjoyment and helping out charity.

44lb 4oz Scaley Carp caught by FLE Angling Coach From Southern Stillwater

I run 'For Life Experiences' which is a full time Angling and Outdoor Pursuit organisation. We offer tuition and educational programs to people of all ages and backgrounds. I have also been coaching full time for 4 years. FLE has recently taken on the running of our own Fishery at Greenridge Farm, Ampfield.

I had a busy week last week as we ran a week long FLE Junior Carp Camp. On the Thursday night and Friday the juniors learnt how to carp fish and look after their catches during the period of darkness. During that 24 hour session on our FLE Top Lake, they caught 43 Carp up to mid doubles and had the privilege of being met by FLE's friends Barry and Ben O'Connor, who came down to join the group for breakfast, have a ...
